Just like that, the boats were full. Once Greece and the EU came to an agreement on additional austerity measures, the threat of a Grexit was extinguished and with a slight (very slight) increase in short term confidence, the Greeks hit the ferries. Holidays are back on (for some)!
Slowly, we could hear more Greek being spoken and saw more komboloi (Greek worry beads). This of course didn’t mean all was well with the world but it was nice to see the beaches fill with familiar faces. Sadly for me, it meant less room for my towel.
